As an associate professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), I have over 15 years of experience in teaching and researching artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), robotics, and computer vision. My mission is to understand natural and artificial learning and to develop smarter and more useful machines that can interact with humans and the environment.I have published multiple papers in prestigious journals and conferences, such as IJCAI and Autonomous Robots, and received several awards and grants for my work. I have also collaborated with leading institutions and organizations, such as INRIA, VTT, and ISR-Lisboa, on various projects related to humanoid robotics, intelligent systems, machine teaching, and interactive learning. I am passionate about advancing the field of AI and robotics and sharing my knowledge and expertise with students and peers.
