I am a continuous flow scientist with working experience in different industries and universities across the globe. I am interested in the development and application of new technologies in industry, in order to optimise processes and chemical reactions. My PhD focused on how to combat global warming by using photocatalysis to remove pollution in urban areas. Due to the novelty of the field, I had to design and build a bespoke analyser to study photocatalytic reactions, besides being familiar with all the latest innovations. The results of my research have been published in various scientific journals and scientifc book; and I have presented it at international conferences, communicating my work to an audience of a range of academic backgrounds.

Phd ResearcherUniversity Of Bath Oct 2011 - Jul 2015Bath, GbTitle: Photocatalytic Coatings in the Built Environmental.Air pollution is a serious problem in the world. Harmful chemicals, such as NOx or SO2, reduce air quality and it causes long and short term health effects.I focused my research in the development of novel coatings for buildings, using cities as air filters to clean the atmosphere. I worked with Anatase (tianium dioxide polymorph with photocatalytic properties) as photocatalyst in the formulation of these coatings.During the first years of my PhD I designed and set up an instrument and a data analysis protocol suitable for the needs of the research. This helped me to sharp my designing and analytical skills. I found out a mass spectrometer was the ideal detector to test how coatings degradate pollutants. Also this research involved the work with microorganisms as biocide properties of photocatalysts are quite interesting for indoor air quality purposes. -
