Responsibilities Assumed: Manage faculty, supervise and evaluate the performance of department members, coordinate teaching and curriculum, oversee the teaching-learning process, encourage research and scientific publications, administer the budget, represent the department, foster professional development, manage conflicts, and comply with established policies and regulations.

It is a GIR systems (Geographic Information Retrieval) that include HCIR (Human Computer IR) or IIR (Interactive IR) features, without leaving aside the classical open issues related to the non-interactive GIR systems. Thereby, we propose a new concept called HC-GIR (Human Computer Geographic Information Retrieval) that can be considered as an intermediate research field between interactive and non-interactive GIR.

As the director of a software research and development center at a university with an integrated teaching process, responsibilities include not only leading and managing software research and development activities, but also coordinating and ensuring the quality of the teaching process, promoting the integration of research and development into teaching, and collaborating with faculty and other departments to strengthen the reputation and prestige of the center and the university in the field of software and technology.
