The calculation of expected and validated values using this model complicated the detection of problems in single components.Aim: The aim was to calculate the expected thermodynamic process parameters of the main power plant components (fuel preheater, gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator, steam turbine and condenser) independently of each other with the Siemens-internal heat balance calculation tool KRAWAL-modular. Furthermore, the target was to determine suitable performance figures that allow an easy evaluation of the components condition and diagnosis of problems.Results: This thesis was the basis for a new combined cycle power plant online diagnostic tool of Siemens, which is utilized either by the department “Center of Technology – Plant Performance” or directly by the power plant operators for supervision of the components performance and their thermodynamic diagnosis.
