About Manu Josiah
What a blessing it is to live in Hilo, Hawaii! Aloha mai kakou. O Manu Josiah kou inoa. I am privileged and honored to be Co-owner of LeiManu Designs with my life partner Leilehua Yuen. Our goal for this company is to share the essence of Aloha through the creation of custom design electrical and gas lighting fixtures utilizing stainless steel, copper, reeclaimed and invasive wood. We have been blessed to have our custom lighting fixtures featured around the world in the finest hotels, restaurants and homes. Utilizing LeiManu Designs as our platform we have been able to reach out to the community locally and internationally and share our collective knowledge of the Hawaiian Culture through hula, music, workshops, Hawaiian crafts and storytelling. I have been working with invasive bamboo to create one of a kind flutes, Ohe hano ihu, bamboo nose flute. Using invasive bamboo for these instruments gives me the opportunity to speak at various venues about alternatives to indiscriminate poisoning to control invasive plants and trees. I am currently working on a project involving reclaimed Monkey pod wood to create beautiful tables.
