Responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of 110+ subordinates in managing the complete Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution functions of this leading company engaged in Warehousing & Distribution. Providing Logistics Solutions to Corporate clients & Securing and Development of new businesses. • Provide leadership, direction and motivation to the Logistics Department. Plan and manage departmental operating, capital, direct/indirect labor budgets• Define department goals and objectives and ensure clear communication to employees • Development, implementation, maintenance and communication of all Standard Operating Procedures• Review and analyze daily and weekly operations, monitor performance and accordingly direct staff to ensure key measures of performance are achieved• Proactive manpower and job planning and matching. Effectively manage the distribution of goods across the region• Develop and implement procedures to ensure the efficient operation, safety and utilization of all personnel, equipment and property. Monitor departmental/ facility performance metrics. Responsible for the code and conduct of the Logistics Department personnel• Negotiate for competitive export rates for outbound shipments. Handle customer complaints and arrange for service recovery for lost business and clients • Relationship management with service providers like DNATA, Ports and Custom and Cargo Village to expedite business processes, remove bottle necks and add value to services provided• Experienced in Project Management / Heavy lifts - break bulk / Risk Management and Return Logistics• Responsible for aggressive sales & business development and promoting company services to Corporate clients • Responsible for managing and monitoring sales targets• Preparing cost benefit analysis of each bid prior to submission of proposal• Working out tailor made solutions for each bid and presenting on behalf of the company
