In my role as Assistant Development Manager, I oversaw one of the largest mixed-use master plan real estate developments, representing the client throughout the project. My responsibilities included: • Master Plan Design: Managed both international and local consultants in developing a comprehensive 36-hectare master plan, landscape, and infrastructure design across all stages. • Residential Development: Directed the preparation of design briefs, procured multidisciplinary consultants, and led three residential projects comprising over 600 apartment units. I also spearheaded value engineering initiatives to align with budget constraints and managed construction and communications. • Retail Development: Oversaw the design process for a shopping mall exceeding 30,000 square meters from initial concept through to final plans. • Hospitality Projects: Managed the concept design for a 150-key five-star hotel, coordinating with stakeholders to meet project specifications.Throughout my tenure, I developed design briefs, handled RFPs, led design meetings, reviewed submissions, tracked changes, and monitored budget and costs. I was also actively involved in marketing material preparation, sales launches, and board presentations, ensuring quality control and supervising construction progress to deliver projects on time and within budget.

As the Lead Architect, I have spearheaded the design and construction supervision of several major public and private building projects, including: • A comprehensive Federal Government Office building complex. • The master plan design for Bahir Dar University, covering an extensive area of 520 hectares.I have also achieved notable success in various international and local design competitions, collaborating with multinational companies, with key wins including: • 1st Prize for the Bahir Dar University master plan in collaboration with USUN. • 1st Prize for the Mekelle University Student Recreation Center. • 2nd Prize for the Addis Ababa Science and Technology University master plan, in partnership with LAVA. • 2nd Prize for the Fedengua G+30 mixed-use residential building. • 2nd Prize for the HIDASE office headquarters. • 2nd Prize for the EIC shopping complex.These accolades underscore my capability in leading high-profile architectural projects from concept through to execution, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and functional designs.

As a Junior Architect, I actively engaged in various phases of architectural design and documentation. I contributed to the design and preparation of working drawings for a Dairy factory, participated in developing the schematic design for the SIM headquarters building, and prepared detailed shop drawings for construction. These activities honed my technical skills and understanding of architectural processes from conception through to detailed execution.

I have played a multifaceted role in academic settings, primarily focused on enhancing architectural education. As an assistant for a fourth-year undergraduate design studio class, I provided guidance and support to students honing their design skills. Additionally, I independently taught a comprehensive “Fundamentals of Architecture” course, aimed at grounding undergraduate students in the essential principles of the field. Beyond teaching, I was instrumental in curating exhibitions that showcased student work and spearheaded the establishment of a dedicated library for the Architecture department, enriching the resources available to both faculty and students.
