It was a pleasure to work with Capital Storytelling on Immigrant Stories, a live storytelling event that took place on October 30th 2024 on campus at Sac State. I feel honored to have been selected by these folks to share my story on stage and learned so much through this process. Capital Storytelling is an amazing grassroots organization focused on.

During the last year of this publication, I was a contributor on multiple projects that involved still photography and video. Collaborated with writers, art directors and fellow photographers on articles on topics ranged from NBA stars, religious leaders, non-profits, Northern California lifestyle, and politics.

I taught Beginning Black-and-White Photography at the Sacramento City College, where, interestingly enough, I was the first female and the youngest faculty member in the department.In 2005 I decided to leave the faculty position to work on my first documentary project, which took place in Sri Lanka.

I served as the official Portuguese interpreter for this program. The Sacramento City College has a partnership with the University of Parana, in southern Brazil. I translated all official paperwork between the two institutions and served as live interpreter during all visits of Brazilian delegates to Sacramento, performing live translations of all.
