Growing up as the oldest of nine children, I have never had a calm, quiet moment in my life. My career as a Paramedic for the past five years has not contributed to the less physically taxing and energetic lifestyle I have been craving. After two back injuries in 2018, I made the decision to go back to school and try my hand at something new, something I have always thought about pursuing - Accounting.Outgoing, organized, and motivated are the common words I would use to describe myself. I'm good with numbers and problem solving. Being a Paramedic has heightened all of these skills. I deal with people in their worst moments on a daily basis. I come up with solutions to problems that most people do not normally face. I can transition all of these skills into the business environment. As an assistant supervisor, I am already putting that claim to the test.I have been with Fraser Aquatics for 11 years, so obviously I stick with a career and business when I enjoy it. Starting there at 14 years old and moving up has been a great accomplishment for me. Being my boss's right-hand gives me so much satisfaction. When she's away, I run the business and manage all of the employees. This job has heightened my communication skills and personality more than any other position I've held.My most recent position as Staff Accountant for the last two years has contributed exponentially in my growth and learning in the accounting field. I started with Lotito & Lazzara, P.C. as an intern and was hired on part-time while continuing my studies. I have learned more about accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, and audit in the field as opposed to classes. You really can't put a price on real-life experience.I'm looking for more experience and the opportunity to learn more about this field. I'm excited to continue this journey.
