Travelled internationally with lawmakers on 'codels'​ and met the heads of state and government in foreign countries. Responsible for high-profile events hosted by the Department of Defense that showcased the service and sacrifice of service members and their families. While serving as a Department of Defense competitively selected fellow, served in a Senator's office for nearly two years, and helped author legislation, develop the Congressional Military Family Caucus, and assisted with foreign policy issues, and domestic appropriations.

Had the honor of leading a 200 plus person team of highly-functioning Engineers in Iraq during the surge, and at Fort Bragg, NC. We deployed before the surge, and we conducted combat missions in Iraq during the height of the surge. Because of our work ethic and proactive attitude, our unit became known as "Iraq's 911 Engineers.” First woman commander of this legacied combat unit. Won the Itschner during our combat rotation to Iraq.
