Felix Maradiaga is a recognized expert in public policy in Central and South America. His broad past experience in public sector reform, social entrepreneurship, and organizational capacity development gives Mr. Maradiaga a comprehensive understanding of improving government-to-citizen engagement from the distinct perspectives of government, the business sector, and non-governmental organizations. As a frequent practitioner of applied political economy analysis in the public, private, and non-profit fields, Mr. Maradiaga regularly prepares and delivers complex analytical services to better understand the intersection between political will, economic conditions, and pragmatic development solutions. He is a former Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense and former Director-General of the Office for follow-up compliance with the Peace Accords in Nicaragua. Through extensive community engagement, he contributed to the Ministries efforts at legislative and policy strengthening, disaster management, humanitarian response, and disarmament, demobilisation, repatriation, reintegration and resettlement of former combatants. Upon leaving the governmental sphere, he founded the Civil Society Leadership Institute, a non-governmental and academic institution aimed at promoting non-violence and social innovation. In 2012, Mr. Maradiaga was a founding partner with a social impact global investment firm, focused on value chain improvement and the regional business enabling environment in Latin America, particularly in agriculture and renewable resources. With policy reform, organizational capacity development, and economic growth expertise, Mr. Maradiaga applies a range of diverse perspectives to devise comprehensive strategic planning and applied political economic analysis solutions. He has frequently served as a high-level representative and primary point of contact for diverse external stakeholders, from government, major donors, private sector leaders, to multilateral organizations. Mr. Maradiaga has driven innovation in the policy and academic realms, having authored over 40 publications on above-mentioned topics. He also serves as Advisor to Pereira International, a Singapore-based global political consultancy.He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Master of Engineering in Renewable Energies from Universidad de Barcelona (Spain).
