[Master Thesis Student]In vivo and in vitro characterization of specific nanobodies as immunotracers to non-invasively visualize specific immune cells in cancer models:- Production of nanobody- [Protein purification] Purification of nanobodies using immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC), size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), and protein-A binding chromatography- In vitro protein characterization (nanobody) using ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Flow Cytometry, Biacore SPR- Radiolabeling the nanobodies (Labeling the nanobodies with radioisotopes such as Technetium and Gallium), followed by performing instant thin layer chromatography (iTLC) and SEC-HPLC, translation towards a PET scan tracer - Performing In vivo experiments (In vivo characterization of the nanobodies in mice)- Throughout the completion of my master's thesis, I consistently engaged in lab meetings, took an active role in reporting and presentations, protocol optimization, and ultimately crafted a comprehensive 100-page thesis document. This master thesis was part of a collaborative research project at the In vivo Cellular and Molecular Imaging (ICMI) and Cellular and Molecular Immunology (CMIM) laboratories of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).

The National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases (NRITLD)- Executed diverse tasks and employed various techniques, including RNA isolation and DNA extraction from diverse fluids and tissue samples such as blood, pleural fluid, and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), alongside proficiency in PCR and real-time PCR.- Crafted research proposals and designed tailored questionnaires for effective data collection.- Conducted data analysis using software tools such as SPSS and Excel.- Contributed to literature reviews and the publication of research papers.- Proficiently presented, reported, and updated project teams on progress.- Actively engaged in dynamic project teams.- Gained valuable experience in both laboratory and research office settings, collaborating with hospital surgeons to obtain necessary samples, thereby enhancing my communication and collaboration skills.

I conducted diverse tests using automated immunoassay analyzers such as VIDAS (bioMerieux) and COBAS (Roche), along with performing tests using Elisa and HPLC under my responsibility. This role equipped me with the expertise to thrive in a high-pressure environment within a large-scale laboratory, where I efficiently managed a significant volume of patient samples with precision.
