My current priority is to find any manual processes within the company that can be automated and create applications for them. In addition, I am also looking for ways to save money on technology as a whole by implementing best practices for cloud platforms and reducing spending on unused systems.

I managed our AWS cloud infrastructure as well as created serverless applications on that platform. I managed our CI/CD process to deploy applications with an emphasis on infrastructure as code, increasing test coverage, and minimal manual intervention. I was one half a two person team that managed all our front-end and back-end services for our customer facing websites and internal CRM application.My latest project was a migration of our old quoting system from Java and MySQL, with the inherent points of failure and potential downtime, to a system built on SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and GraphQL. The new system not only replicated the original system, but it experienced almost no downtime. When errors occurred, it was also able to recover because of SQS and DLQs. The status was monitored in SumoLogic with alerts set if the number of entries was outside our expected rate or if too many errors are identified. All of the infrastructure, including queues, notifications, and databases were coded using the Serverless framework, Terraform, or CloudFormation. There were development, staging, and production environments all auto deployed and tested.Prior to that, one of my larger projects was a marketing application used to send over one million emails per week. Written in Java on JBoss Wildfly and backed my MySQL, the application could generate emails using content from our website; search our database of 700k+ subscribers based on past and current interests, including click and open activity of past emails; handle subscribes and unsubscribes via the web; automatically unsubscribe members based on hard bounces or marking email as spam; and display reports on click rates, open rates, and generated revenue per email (based on bookings attributed to the emails).Other skills:- ETL (AWS Glue and Spark)- Python cron scripts (Web2Py, SQLAlchemy, MySQLdb)- maintaining policies on our PaloAlto firewall (earlier Cisco ASA5510)- log monitoring in SumoLogic
