BSI (British Standards Institution) is the business standards company that equips businesses with the necessary solutions to turn standards of best practice into habits of excellence. Formed in 1901, BSI was the world’s first National Standards Body and a founding member of the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). As MD ANZ, Marc lead an executive leadership team with 130+ employees and 200+ independent contractors that is classified as a medium sized company by the Australian Tax Office. The business is professional services including assurance, certification, training and capacity building with a jurisdiction of Oceania. Comprising three limited companies, with offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Auckland and Christchurch, Marc is one of five company directors. BSI Group ANZ runs as an independent business unit, reporting through to BSI Group, based in London. BSI ANZ has much of its own support services including Finance, HR, Compliance & Risk and Operations with strategic support and direction from Group in London. Marc established the New Zealand business as a start-up in 2017 which included 2x small but strategic acquisitions in 2019 and 2021, and is now a major player in the New Zealand market in its field.

As Global Director Food and Retail Supply Chain, Marc directly supported the Global five year rolling strategy for BSI bringing the extensive food sector experience and capability built in Australia to the world. Leveraging the strong and established food sector reputation in Australia, he expanded this footprint into APAC in 2014 to 2016, 2017 EMEA and the Americas in 2018. Strengthening internal and external relationships and partnerships with growth being the agenda, the role was largely consultative and collaborative and, outside of Australia, considered a start-up. Being a matrix organisation, the Global Food sector has indicative financial reporting with revenues of 3 times initial on minimal start-up funding.
