• Managed the storage infrastructure (source and target solutions for a large migration project) for Morgan Stanley on behalf of the lead supplier (Hitachi Data Systems). Upgrading the Hitachi-based storage systems with newer technology product offerings resulted in storage infrastructure footprint savings of 75%.• Maintained the existing infrastructure in line with agreed SLAs and continued to manage the storage stream of an ongoing global data-centre migration programme. • Analysed client datasets to identify areas for cost-savings and performance improvements.• Developed several data manipulation and reporting tools for use by consultants and customers. • Developed an analysis tool which pulled data from multiple sources, enabling improved analysis of customer data and performance. • Designed and developed (MySQL, HTML, PHP) tools to enable improved reporting and graphical representation of infrastructure dependencies and right sizing of virtualised infrastructures.

Glasshouse Technologies were a global provider of IT infrastructure services including storage, backup and archiving consultancy. • Worked as SAN team leader for over four years on a global data-centre migration for Morgan Stanley, working in conjunction with the lead provider Hitachi Data Systems. The data-centre migration involved consolidating five North American data-centres into two, and encompassed over 900 storage arrays, 8000 SAN attached hosts and 20 petabytes of data. The new design also provided a segregated QA and development area as well as DR.• Directly managed and mentored a team of five ensuring the team were focussed on meeting business goals. Drove other SAN related project dependencies through the wider migration project team.• Completed long-term and short-term consultancy assignments, progressing from Consultant through to Principal Consultant; analysed existing infrastructures, carried out environment audits and data-profiling work for numerous high-profile clients. • Presented architecture, costs and options for improved solutions for storage, backups and replication, providing potential cost-savings, stability and performance improvements.
