Suppliers were continuously evaluated looking for their CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT based on previously-defined QUALITY STANDARDS.- Creation of QUALITY PROTOCOLS and the corresponding Timber Quality and Timber Packaging NORMS, which defined the quality of the material to be included in the timber packages, and the process on how to build the timber units guaranteeing their optimal resistance during transportation and handling.- Preparation of a VisualAid documents to be given to all those workers responsible for the preparation of the timber packages in the different suppliers.- Holding regular MEETINGS with all suppliers to present the results and discuss possible CORRECTIVE ACTIONS.- Preparation and discussion of weekly and monthly REPORTS with the results in order to better adapt company's QUALITY NORMS and tolerances.2) Execution of the PROCEDURE for hubs and sawmills:- Incoming goods QUALITY CONTROL, together with the assurance of the correct stacking of the fresh material in the yard. Physical control of the stock. - Control of the Kiln-dry (KD) process and the sorting of the material afterwards.- Loading control into the containers.In this position I had the opportunity to join the COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT, with a direct contact with both the SUPPLIERS and EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS when QUALITY issues appeared.Facing critical situations sometimes, I could significantly improve my ASSERTIVE COMMUNICATION in an INTERNATIONAL environment, ADAPTING to different realities in different suppliers, but always keeping in mind the COMPANY GOALS and PRIORITIES.By WORKING UNDER PRESSURE I had to develop good NEGOTIATION skills.

This experience as a presenter allowed me to develop good PUBLIC SPEAKING and PRESENTATION skills, which is something that I enjoy doing now.During all this time my supervisor was living in a different country, and thanks to that I could strengthen my WORK COMMITMENT and WORK RESPONSIBILITY abilities.This supervision from the distance also allowed me to improve my ORGANIZATION and TASK PRIORITIZATION skills.I also could have hands on LIDAR data, broadening my knowledge on REMOTE SENSING information sources and PROCESSING techniques.

Field work and study of EUCALIPTUS SP. and tree native species' PLANTATIONS.During the internship I also attended other courses in the AMAZON and SAVANNAH regions, thanks to the collaboration with two other Brazilian universities: Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) & Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA).The decision to go to Brazil was a CHALLENGE, but at the same time an opportunity to get a good image of the FOREST SECTOR GLOBALLY.In most of the places I stayed people could not speak English or Spanish, and that was perfect to develop good PORTUGUESE skills.I also noticed a big difference in their WORKING CULTURE, forcing me to ADAPT to these new conditions.
