EHS specialists are responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing an organization's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures. Their primary objective is to create a workplace that is safe and healthy for people and the planet. They take ownership of workplace safety programs and may train staff on proper procedures to avoid accidents or injuries. They often take a lead role in overseeing the organization's Environmental Management System, and would also establish the protocol for how to handle natural disasters that may have an environmental impact.

• Conduct on-boarding safety training for new hires to include: Safety Orientation, Authorized Lockout/Tagout, Permit Required Confined Space, Electrical/Arc Flash, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, Forklift and Annual Safety Awareness training.• Assist with COVID-19 health and safety protocols to meet MIOSHA and CDC standards. Contact tracing, daily monitoring compliance, disinfectant availability, temperature checks, mask and social-distancing conformity.• Assist Plant Safety in daily monitoring and observation. Conduct safety assessments and input into Behavioral Base Safety database. • Support safety policy standards of: OSHSAS 180001 – Safety Management System, ISO 140001 – Environmental Management System and TS 16949 – Quality Management.

- Provide a safe and efficient work environment through proper PPE, training and motivation. - Maintain and exceed TRIR and DART expectations. - Facilitate Safety Committee (Agenda, coaching/mentoring and publishing). - Manage all accident/incidents and medical responses to include Emergency Coordinators (Drills). - Conduct all New Hire Orientations to include safety policies and mandatory OSHA training. - Participated in Kaizen events of 6S and other Lean Manufacturing concepts for the company. - Backfill Manufacturing as needed (Supervisor - Plant Manager)

I joined the Fire Service in September 2000 in a way to "Give Back" to my community. I celebrated my 1st year anniversary the same month as 9/11 and knew I made the right decision. I have also thought I should have joined the military and given back to my country. This is what drew me to Iraq and "Protecting Those That Protect Freedom"I proud to have started my Fire Career at the City of Walker, Michigan. I was there for, almost (8) years, as a Paid-On-Call firefighter. When I went to Iraq, I worked for a subcontractor - WSI - Wackenhut Fire & Emergency Services. After my first year the contract switched over to Sallyport Global Holdings and then eventually to the prime contractor KBR.

Overseen 3rd Shift manufacturing including production requirements, safety, discipline and coaching. This was a temporary assignment that I stepped in to with little training and given total responsibility in just one week. Was considered for full-time position before taking overseas contract job in Iraq.

Overseen all manufacturing operations including Receiving, Warehouse, Build Up (production), Finishing (Paint and Stain), Packaging and Shipping. Also, worked directly with HR on Safety Committee, Coaching, discipline and hiring (temp services and full time).

Overseen Fabrication(Punch presses, Forming Brakes and Welding), Paint line and Roller Assembly. Responsible for daily production needs and ordering required materials. Worked with Engineering on product design and machine requirements. Conducted all OSHA required safety training and chaired Safety Committee.

Overseen Fabrication (Punch Presses, Lasers, Shears, Forming Brakes, Saws, Drill Presses, Spot Welders, Robot Welders, Welding) Paint line (Powder Coat) and filled in other department over the years including Receiving, Shipping and Assembly. Familiar with SAP inventory management systems. Conducted new hire interviews and all required OSHA safety training. This was a UAW Union shop and I had a great working relationship with the union.

Worked on the floor as a fabricator in the Cutting Department.(Brake Operator, Shear, Drill Press, Saw, Weidomatic and Laser operator) Also, filled in Welding as needed. Worked my way into a Lead Man position.
