Managing of local internal control activities;Presentation of the yearly control program and results thereof to the local Executive Committee;Establishing and approval of the internal audit reviews program, objective and scope;Carrying out of internal audit reviews and special requests of Executive Committee;Consultancy activities and audit activities linked to the Internal Control System [ICS] (i.e. Swiss SOX), within Belgium, France, The Netherlands and Germany;Discussion and presentation of the audit report to the auditees, operating as well as executive management;Managing all ICS activities i.e. updating of key controls, maintaining the global system ICS up-to-date and effective, training key stakeholders on ICS hot topics;Implementation of the ICS program in Holcim Germany;Implementing of a Group IT tool allowing to manage more effectively and efficiently the Internal Control requirements re. the proper follow-up of all ICS specifications – including the necessary training of involved stakeholders;Managing the collaboration between local Management and Group Internal Audit e.g. preparation of group internal reviews, preparation of documentation, assistance to local Management during Group’s audit reviews, etc.;Management of the overarching GDPR activities for all businesses in Belgium on basis of the existing GDPR legislations and on basis of the Holcim Group instructions & procedures;Training of key stakeholders on GDPR requirements and tools used to manage effectively various GDPR topics.Acting as local Security Correspondent.The carried out internal audit reviews covered main business risks areas (e.g. purchasing, logistics activities, accounts payables, sales cycle, treasury management, site restoration costs, investments, credit control, payroll, ship & train concessions management, etc.).Main focus was set on the operational side (identification of main business risks and added value to the entire organization).

Main responsibilities:Managing of the internal audit department (3 persons located in Belgium);Preparation and presentation of the internal audit budget to the Executive Committee, the local Audit Committee, and Group Internal Audit (Zurich);Presentation of the yearly internal audit program and audit results to the Executive and Audit Committees;Supervision of internal audit teams and review of internal audit files;Training activities re. the proper use of ACL and its by-products (ACL Direct Link) to peers;Participation in round tables and specific workshops within the Holcim Group in order to propose improvements to the applicable internal audit methodology;Training of staff auditors on applicable internal audit methodology and internal audit tools inside the Holcim Group.Results: Significant savings in various operational and financial areas, the team was considered as the Internal Audit European Flagship.

Main responsibilities:Establishing of the internal audit department in 1997;Establishing and maintaining of the Group internal audit charter;Managing of the internal audit department (IA personnel located in Brussels, Moscow and in Teplice – Czech Republic);Management of the relationship with the external auditors (including audit fees negotiation).Main audited areas:The carried out internal audit reviews covered main business risks areas (e.g. purchasing, transport, accounts payables, accounts receivables, treasury management, agent commissions, business activities of affiliates, investments, credit control, payroll, fraud, etc.).The audit overall philosophy was based on a pragmatic approach of up-to-date, effective and efficient internal auditing.Results: Internal audit function strongly established and recognized as a professional partner, within almost all European countries (incl. Russia) and in Indonesia.

Main purposes: establishing of audit mission planning, scope and objectives, carrying out of internal audit reviews (individually or in a team), drafting of audit reports, and discussion of internal audit results with auditees.Main audit missions: financial and operational audits, as well as specific internal audit assignments.Main audited areas (Belgium, France, and The Netherlands): investment projects, purchasing activities, transport activities, treasury management, customers and dealers financing, payroll review, fraud detection and analysis, and follow-up of previous internal audit reports.
