As a business analyst I worked for several large federal departments, where I was charged with delivering some very involved IT systems. Delivered a system used by the major crime units of the RCMP, one used by air traffic controllers flying over the North Atlantic and many more.Obviously working with big organizations means dealing with multiple teams that need to work together, people having different views of what is going to be the end product, not to mention at times systems that straddle municipal, state and/or federal jurisdictions. And at the end of the day we needed to have only one system, that made everybody somewhat happy!Building a system where everybody feels like their concerns are not only heard but implemented was challenging at times, but with proper strategies careful execution the end result was usually something that all stakeholders were proud of rolling out.I was the liaison between the IT department and the user community, and I was the one who made sure everybody's concerns were heard and we collaboratively came up with a solution that worked for all.
