From specialty craftsman, I soon found a desire to contribute to the overall health and safety of coworkers in each and every operation. I went on to develop an expertise in Health & Safety. I now supervise large crews on environmentally sensitive-projects, participate in each project safety program, train, investigate and document issues, and conduct continuous monitoring of crews and operations onsite, in conformity with health and safety rules and regulations and each project specific health and safety issues. I quickly develop the tools required to contribute to the site emergency response team and soon enough became the site Incident Commander. On a continuous basis, know and understand all aspects of the job; intermittently analyze work papers, reports and special projects; identify and interpret technical and numerical information; observe and problem solve operational and technical policy and procedures; and explain District policies and procedures and safety/risk management concepts and practices to the general public, consultants, and District staff.
