One of the most rewarding parts of my job is acting as a leader to provide innovative solutions for internal and external issues that arise in a constantly changing environment. It has been an eye opening opportunity to understand the Inuit way of life, history and connection to the land. I continue to work very closely with resident Inuit members, co-workers, communities and stakeholder organizations to generate positive relationships that benefit both the community members and Baffinland’s objectives. I have acted as the Environmental Coordinator on several occasions while incorporating those responsibilities into my regular work routine. I continue to challenge myself and the senior management team to provide growth opportunities outside of my current role. I take great pride in the fact that current and previous co-workers reach out to me for advice on environment and operational issues as I have been fortunate to gain industry experience through education, training, previous work experience and personal interests.
