Valley Beit Midrash (a global center for learning and action) is a forward-thinking, pluralistic not-for-profit organization rooted in Jewish ethics that is committed to improving lives in our communities through Torah learning, social action, and leadership development.

The Mission of Fast for Feast is to feed the hungry by following the advice of Rabbi Shmuel Eidels, better known by the acronym Maharsha, (1555-1631), of calculating the money saved when fasting and giving the money to charity. By doing so, we transform fast days into feast days for the poor. While each person’s contribution is small, when merged together we have the ability to feed tens of thousands.

929 is an international biblical educational initiative founded initially in Israel and brought to North America, in part because of my efforts, that seeks to include the broader Jewish community in reconnecting to biblical liturgy by encouraging those of all backgrounds to learn a chapter of the Old Testament 5 days a week. I was responsible for recruiting diverse contributors from across North America to the program, including rabbis, professors, artists, journalists and others. As Development Director for Israel's National Food Bank, I expanded the organization's donor base in the Western part of the United States. I traveled and met with donors, drafted grant applications, led food insecurity community learning workshops, partnered with Jewish and non-Jewish institutions, such as Synagogues, private schools, and churches to spread the word about the necessity for food relief programs in Israel and the U.S.
