Since taking sole responsibility for the department, I have placed a huge focus on customer service and improving operational standards. This has been achieved through successful recruitment in addition to training my team using regular staff training sessions to improve the business but also develop the skill set of the members of my team for their own personal development. It is of huge importance to me that all development should be mutually beneficial for the business and the employees.Excellent customer service has led to the achievement of three awards in the last 12 months:- certificate of excellence on trip advisor- best venue in the bestof local awards- highly recommended in the bestof local awardsMy time in this role has seen huge growth in the food & beverage department with excellent customer service the catalyst for enhancing the venue's reputation for casual dining and events.The events side of the business has seen considerable growth with a couple of personal highlights being a record Christmas period as well as the Malaysian Royal Family Golf Day.Another highlight of my first year in my role, is the significant improvement in cost control significantly reducing the beverage cost of sale and payroll percentages as well as the control of expenses and other operational costs through supplier negotiation and training and management of my team.

With greater responsibility for the operational success of the department,this role also exposed me to the financial side of the business taking greater responsibility for stocktaking procedures as well as the creation of weekly rotas to meet payroll budgets. A huge achievement for me was the great feedback I received on Tripadvisor for a variety of functions and events.

Promotion to a supervisory level enabled me to take greater responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the department as well as allowing me to develop further skills including training and leadership as well as complaint handling.

Working front of house at Farleigh enabled me to develop invaluable customer service skills ensuring customer expectations were exceeded. This role enabled me to discover my passion for the hospitality industry and increase my desire to develop a successful career within the industry.
