Acted as network cabling and infrastructure expert and liaised with outside engineering agencies on all matters relating to the design requirements. Responsible for developing and establishing policies to normalize the planning, design, and documentation of network assets, including the quality assurance of telecommunications cable networks and their associated supporting infrastructure.Duties include directing, controlling and planning telecom activities in support of mining operations above and below the surface, which included the installation and maintenance of:- Underground, buried, aerial, fibre optic and copper feeder cables;- Building Structured copper, fibre optic backbone and horizontal cables;- Intranet fibre backbone of industrial protocol modebod+- All telephone, TV and Wireless internet connectivity to roomed complexe.- Cross connection, electrical protection;- Simple, complex UHF/VHF antenna system, including microwave systems;- Satellite links, Ku and C Band; and- First and Second line antenna system maintenance.

Rank of Master Warrant Officer (manager), responsible for the planning, design and quality assurance of telecommunications cable networks and their associated supporting infrastructure. Also responsible for succession planning for Land Forces Quebec Area (LFQA) tradesman.Duties included directing, controlling and planning line operations for the Land Forces Area Québec(LFQA). Liaised with Command Headquarters, Bases, Wings, Formation, Units, Government Organizations and Civilian Agencies within the Québec Area on matters relating to the engineering, installation and maintenance of:- Underground, buried, aerial, fibre optic and copper feeder cables;- Building Structured copper, fibre optic backbone and horizontal cables;- Cross connection, electrical protection; and- First and Second line antenna system maintenance.

Rank of Warrant Officer (supervisor), responsible for the co-ordination and supervision of all troops’ activities, consisting of 10 military instructional staff and two civilian stores manDuties included the supervision, instruction and evaluation of training in the different aspects of the Canadian Forces Communication Lineman trade such as:- Climbing various structures (towers, wood poles);- Copper and fibre Optic cable splicing;- Tools and machinery;- Underground, buried, aerial copper and fibre optic feeder cables installation;- Copper and fibre Optic backbone and horizontal cables installation;- cross connection and electrical protection;- Construction of tower and antenna system; and- Use of test set and associated equipment.

Rank of Sergeant (supervisor), responsible for the co-ordination and control of a section, consisting of up to three civilians and four military Linemen.Duties included the supervision and co-ordination of personnel, materials and cost associated with 8 WTISS cabling and antenna requirements. I was responsible for the installation and maintenance of:- Underground, buried, aerial, fibre optic and copper feeder cables;- Building Structured copper, fibre optic backbone and horizontal cables;- Cross connection, electrical protection;- Simple, complex UHF/VHF antenna system, including microwave systems;- Some components of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Area Surveillance Radar;- Miscellaneous circuit, fire and intrusion alarm;- Telephone, cellular phone, fax;- Cable records; and- Moves, adds and changes

Rank of Corporal (journeyman), responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of line communication associated equipment in support of military installations at CFB Petawawa and all other military base or Armories throughout the province of Ontario.Duties included the installation and maintenance of:- Underground, buried, aerial feeder cables;- Copper and fibre optic backbone and horizontal cables;- Cable splicing- Cross connection, electrical protection; and- Simple, complex UHF/VHF antenna system, including microwave systems.
