I'm doing pretty good as far as geniuses go - Kanye WestAs you can ascertain from the above quote, I love hip-hop. From naming my son after a Lauryn Hill song to using Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” as my pump up music, no other art form has influenced personally as much as hip-hop. However, hip-hop has also influenced me professionally as well. For example, collaborations are big in hip-hop. It can be a MC and DJ or multiple MCs on the same track. I like to collaborate with others in the workplace to try to solve a company problem with everyone bringing their unique talents, skills and knowledge to the table.Freestyling is when an MC flows with lyrics right off the top of his or her head. While I try to avoid rap battles at work, I often have to think of solutions off the top of my head to work problems needing answers yesterday. These opportunities give me a chance to flex my creative juices at work.In hip-hop, rappers always want to stay ahead of the curve out of fear of being passed by other MCs and considered dated. I try to improve my skill set as much as I can on a constant basis to prevent from being behind the curve. Be it trial and error, online research or learning from a collaborator, I try to improve and grow as much as possible every day.If you would like to collaborate, problem solve, pick my brain or tell me how hip-hop has influenced you, I would love to hear from you.AKA/Common misspellings: Mark Ingram, Marc Engram, Mark Engram, Zion’s DadSpecialties: Strategic Leadership, Operational Oversight, Leadership Development, Cross Functional Management, Financial Analysis, Finance & Accounting, Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control, Risk Management, Benefits & Compensation, Planning & Total Rewards, Management Consulting, Staffing & Selection, Labor Negotiations, Systems & Software Integration / Implementation & Support, Analytics Management, Management ReportingAwards: GFEL USA Outstanding Education Leadership, GFEL USA 2020-Top 100 Leaders in Education, Detroit Public Schools Community District Administrator of the Year Runner-Up (2x)
