In February 2022 I took the lead for CNL as project manager for the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) CNSC licence renewal and consolidation. During this temporary assigment I was responsible for planning, executing and developing a number of deliverables including:1. Development of a comprehensive Commission Member Document to support our Licence renewal and consolidation (link below).2. Conveining a dedicated hearing team3. Preparing the hearing team by facilitating pactice sessions and mock-hearings4. Participating in the hearing, representing Radiation Protection, Health and Safety and Transport of dangerous goods. Outcome: The CNSC Commission hearing was held on November 22, 2022 in Cobourg Ontario. CNL was successful in its application to renew and consolidate the PHAI Licnece for a 10 year period. I participated in the hearing and answered a number of questions from the commission members to their satisfaction. During the 5 years that I spent at Dixie I acted as the charge technologist and Radiation Safety Officer in their large Independent Health Facility in Vaughan Ontario. Dixie prides itself on providing top-notch cutting edge health care.As charge technologist and Radiation Protection Officer, my duties included administering and maintaining their Nuclear Substance and Radiation Devices CNSC licence while delivering all required nuclear medicine services referred to the clinic. During my tenure at Dixie, I completely updated their existing Radiation Protection protocols and procedures to better reflect the risks and hazards associated at that clinic. I was instrumental in initiating staff Radiation Protection training which allowed for tighter control of radiation dose and helped minimize the collective dose to both staff and patients. While RSO at Dixie I went through three CNSC inspection cycles and had a flawless CNSC inspection history, with no noncompliances noted during any of the inspections.
