Arranged and conducted interviews with former residents of the island with the help of Plaquemines Parish Historian Rod Lincoln. I also maintain the website and social media platform. This site features the stories of the residents of Pilottown, Louisiana from lifelong residents to those who summered there, those who left in the forties to those who left after Katrina, and even those who still remain. Along with these oral histories and personal remembrances, we will provide the history of the area: culturally, geologically, socially, geographically and more. Enjoy the journey as you learn more about this amazing municipality once home to pirates, trappers, hunters, and river and bar pilots.
