It serves the residents of Cleveland, Cuyahoga county and surrounding communities. It is the preeminent trauma hospital in the Cleveland area being a level I adult trauma center since 1992. As an academic medical center it partners with the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. For ten years, I was part of the hospitals mission to provide service to those who needed it most. The system typically provides over $230 million in uncompensated care and financial assistance to those who either are uninsured or underinsured. My role was to ensure the neediest patients were able to access the care they needed, had community support networks and services in place, and were more likely to experience improved outcomes.

The mission is to recognize outstanding academic achievement, provided self-development and networking opportunities, and encourage a sense of civic duty and community involvement.
