I am in-house counsel for EDF Renewables North America, a renewable energy company engaged in the development, construction, financing, acquisition and divestiture, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of renewable energy projects throughout North America. I am the lawyer responsible for the Canadian business, but also devote considerable time to the US business. In my current role, I negotiate and draft energy and REC off-take and hedge agreements, M&A and JV agreements, procurement and construction agreements, debt and equity financings, interconnection agreements, O&M agreements, and consulting and vendor agreements. I manage corporate governance matters for the Canadian entities, as well as certain US entities. I am responsible for Canadian employment law matters, as well as for Canadian corporate policies. I manage outside transactional and litigation counsel on a range of matters in both the US and Canada. Prior to my time with EDF Renewables North America, I was briefly in-house counsel at SkyPower Corp. and before that for a few years at Shell Canada where I advised on the downstream business, a major project and on renewable energy generation. Prior to my in-house roles, I was an associate at the corporate law firm of Aird & Berlis LLP.
