I've been retired now for more that 4 years and I am happier than I ever have been. It's a wonderful feeling to wake up each morning and wonder what fun activity or hobby I will work on that day. I still weld, run a wood lathe, play guitar, design unique scroll saw patterns, write music and other fun stuff. I do occasionally think about looking for employment but, I've gotten to the point where doing what I want to do is more important than being paid to do something else. I envisioned a retirement where I would create things from wood and metal so, over the years, I collected a myriad of tools and hardware to allow me to build most of what I can imagine. I've always liked playing music and being retired has finally give me the time to practice a bit more on the guitar and also learn to play bass guitar - although my bass guitar proficiency is pretty sketchy at this point. I also have my daughter living near my wife and I and that is a wonderful thing. We've moved to Washington State, which was great. We really like it here. The scenery is spectacular and the weather suites us. Cannon Beach OR is my new favorite place and we get down there pretty often. The number of beautiful waterfalls in Washington has us travelling all around the state to see them. It seems like water is always falling somewhere close wherever you are in the state. In the "Industry" line of Linked in "Retired" is not own of the options. When you see "Mechanical Or Industrial Engineering" in my profile, please translate that to "Happily Retired". Thanks

So, I'm still in the same place but with a different company name. In May of 2015 AGS acquired Cadillac Jack and me along with it. I'm still responsible for SQA, SCM, Jurisdictional Engineering and the ATL portion of Product Compliance . We still have a great bunch of people at the AGS Atlanta office and our product is still getting better and better. I am excited to help in coordinating our products and ensuring that what we turn out will be reliable and approvable by all the independent test labs we are working with. We have made great strides in our quality with the addition of video game monitoring and other useful automated monitoring and testing tools. I'm now in my sixth year with Cadillac/AGS and we are still small enough to be personal but now we're also big enough to make a difference in the industry.

I started with Cadillac Jack in Nov 2010. I was moved to VP in Jan 2014. I am responsible for SQA, SCM, Jurisdictional Engineering and Product Compliance. We have a great bunch of people at CJ and our product gets better with each new release. It's really exciting being part of a company this size as individual contributors can actually make a difference on the direction of the company. It's also great fun being in Atlanta with all the history and all the stuff that grows. After 32 years in the desert of Las Vegas, it has sure been interesting coming back to the east coast.

Assisted in the development of gaming communication protocols by working with Industry technology experts from many competing companies. Primarily responsible for making progress on the protocols, for gaining consensus on changes and additions from the competing entites and for helping to foster an atmosphere of cooperation in telephone and face to face meetings between fierce competitors in the gaming space.

Started as an Electronic Engineer then moved to Lab Manager then Division Chief. The Electronic Services Division was responsible for testing and evaluating all gaming software for the state of Nevada and was the final technical approving authority for gaming software in Nevada. The Electronic Services division approved approximately 2500 software modifications/year along with new game platforms, live game analysis and other duties as required. I also wrote the technical standards for server based and server supported gaming and was responsible for the "one touch" slot machine metering scheme. Most of the standards are still in force today and have been copied in whole or in part by multiple jurisdictions and agencies. Also provided guidance to manufacturers regarding compliance and how to comply with the Nevada Technical standards.
