Profile bio

About Marc Pawlowsky

A project leader with experience in guiding and completing software projects from the verybeginning to shipping; while mentoring team members to better development practices to produce high quality software. Still managing to keep my hands embedded in the code, and loving it!I have been a lover of software development ever since I first wrote my first program to have a user guess a number from 1 to 100 in BASIC on a time share system, by getting thestudents in the class to let the youngster hanging around try this new thing. As a generalist I have worked in many domains from medical research, home entertainment, telecommunications, business processes, client/server work, to mobile. The variety of backgrounds has allowed me to bring to bear solutions from different areas to the problems I am currently trying tosolve. I have become known as the person who can put together different tools sets and new ideas to come up with a functioning and reliable product. What started out as a desire for quality because of pride of workmanship has now become apassion. I wholly believe the best way to deliver a project on schedule and on budget at minimal riskis to build quality in from the beginning. I achieve this through: clean code practices, Test DrivenDesign, and automation of processes, and bring in testing from day 0. These processes allow for continual improvement while while delivering a potentially shipping product frequently, without regressing, and keeping a stable rate of progress. Introducing these concepts to legacy project while meeting business goals is an enjoyable challenge. My greatest strengths are saying "I don't know, lets find out.", "that was a bad idea I had, what can we do to improve it", tempered by the the infamous quote from Steve Jobs "Real Artists ship".

Listed skills include Agile Methodologies, Software Development, Eclipse, Java, and 44 others.
