I am responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability for the Piccadilly Line fleet. This includes the ensuring the fleet is maintained and all projects are delivered to time and budget. With the current fleet of trains due for replacement in 2026, my role is to ensure that the fleet sustains its performance and availability whilst preparing the infrastructure for the new fleet of trains.

Bakerloo line fleet

I am responsible for the east end of the Central Line 92TS planned maintenance and casualty repair of the fleet to meet the service requirements to meet the high demand of the travelling public. This requires close management of the fleet and staff within the depot including there safety and the visiting contractors that are required to use the depot to enter the line for current upgrade projects. This responsibility also includes the Waterloo and City Line with its 100% daily availability requirement to meet the peak demand. I am responsible for maintaining and delivering the maintenance on time and to budget. I am focused and driven to adapt to the ever changing needs of the business undertaking changes to organisational structure to accommodate.

I was working alongside the Depot Production Manager at Hainault depot where I got to work closely with the Depot Manager where my role was to Manage and introduce processes to improve the business. I was responsible for covering the Depot Manager in his absence and lead a change for overtime reduction for the Central Line Fleet.

I was seconded to the role of Depot Manager to gain a greater understanding of the demands of managing a depot taking on full responsibility for the fleet, staff and the landlord role. This was a valued experience which enabled me to drive a change to the depot itself bring in the 5 processes and implementing the 7 wastes to the everyday working.

This role required me to lead a team of 20 technicians across 6 teams to improve the first time fix rate on the 92TS and drive down existing work orders bringing in greater controls of unit ownership and work order management.

The involved working on and diagnosing the inboard ATC signalling equipment operated on the 92TS.

Responsible for the technical fault finding using skills developed from my apprenticeship. This involved working on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems in the 92TS.

Carried out routine maintenance of the 92 TS and running repairs to teh fleet.

Achieved NVQ Level 2 & 3 in mechanicla and electrical skills. This started as an introduction to an engineering enviroment and developed into hands on experience on the front line working on the Bakerloo 72TS, Victoria 67TS and Central 92TS Fleet of trains.
