I love working on student engagement, community development and socialimpact initiatives. My interest in these areas was sparked by my experiences of volunteering whilst at university, and for the past 10+ years I have been very fortunate to pursue a career that ticks all those boxes. In my roles over the years I have been responsible for strategy and planning, student and community engagement, project andprogram management, workshop facilitation and staff/volunteer management for a range of very interesting and successful initiatives. These include a large university-based volunteer hub, a national social enterprise planning competition, a university-wide framework for the recognition of students' extra-curricular activities and acommunity garden project within a social housing development.I have developed a keen interest in UX (User Experience) Design as my career has progressed because I believe that putting stakeholders at the heart of every service or product offering is fundamental to its success. I am also very interested in this discipline as I find it intriguing to try and understand what makes people respond in the way they do, and how best to design a product or service in a manner thatmakes it more accessible, enjoyable and functional for the user. I am currently enrolled in Interaction Design Foundation's (IDF) course in UX Design and look forward to applying what I learn to my current work and beyond.
