As a senior designer, I have had numerous ship-building roles within the Serco team. My colleagues and I have developed in-house conceptual designs, each having unique challenges, requirements and complexity. I have also worked extensively with various Canadian and International shipyards, converting our naval designs into manufacturing realities. I have learned that the shipbuilding industry is a global one, and yet, in so many ways, it is a small world, with many relationships forged from past projects resumed anew in collaborative efforts to create and build new designs.

I am a member of the Joint Support Ship (JSS) project team. The two Queenston-class Joint Support Ships (JSS) will replace the Royal Canadian Navy’s Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment vessels. The new ships will provide core replenishment, limited sealift capabilities, and support to operations ashore. The JSS will be one of the first of the Royal Canadian Navy’s ships currently being built at the Seaspan shipyard, as part of the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy.

Utilization of SolidWorks 3D CAD software to create 3D models and assemblies for engineering design projects as it applies to Marine Systems, Victoria Class submarines. - Create animations and exploded views of the 3D models to illustrate an interactive maintenance manual for the VCS in accordance with the VISSC (Victoria In-Service Support Contract)- Drawing automation techniques created using SolidWorks features such as BOM generation and Product Data Management (EPDM) software.

• Design, preparation and production of detailed Pro/ENGINEER drawings and all supportive documentation of parts, assemblies and related items from inception through manufacturing to installation procedures and maintenance in accordance with clients’ specific requirements and compliant with industry standards.• Coordination of complete projects from liaison with clients to field installation, including quality control in the manufacturing & fabrication process.• Create Running Procedures for newly designed conventional wellhead products. These manuals include equipment design features, detailed installation & removal instructions, and supporting illustrations. • Troubleshooting of all projects on an on-call basis, coordination with on-site technical personnel, and delegation of specific tasks to junior team members.• Representation of Stream-Flo Industries at trade shows and other official functions.

• Prepare and produce detailed Pro/ENGINEER drawings, with input from the design engineers based on the specific client requirements and compliant with industry standards. • Duties included approving work order processes and assessing non-conformances brought forward by the manufacturing team, either independently or in consultation with my colleagues. • Generate ECN either independently or under guidance. Any findings and resolution of the non-conformance would be properly documented and archived for historical purposes.
