The Integration Team at Microway custom builds and stress tests High Performance Computing solutions for researchers and engineers. As a member of that team I load and tune operating systems; Redhat Enterprise, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo and Windows, on single workstations, servers and multi-node clusters. These systems include NVIDIA GPU, and Intel PHI Coprocessors on SuperMicro, Intel, ASUS and ASRock motherboards. Networking on clusters includes Microway Cluster Management System, Mellanox Infiniband, and Intel Omnipath. We also configure IPMI and Ethernet connectivity using Netgear and Cisco switching. My work also involves on site installations at customer locations working with local technical teams and principal researchers. I have installed clusters for Harvard, Clemson, CU Denver and other other universities as well as commercial and government agencies.

Taught in the fall and spring semesters of the senior year for Computing Technology majors, these courses are designed to coalesce the student’s technical knowledge learned during the previous 3 years, as well as provide new areas of growth through writing Statements of Work, public speaking and presentation skills, along with customer engagement in large scale technology projects.

Airwave wireless access point controller with 32 AP’s some Cisco Aironet and some Proxim. Packeteer 3500 Packet shaper, Cisco PIX 515 on the edge, 100Mbps ISP connection direct fiber ethernet handoff. Active Directory 2003, Exchange 2003 Microsoft environment with 820 client computers and 4,340 user accounts. 46 Windows servers, 7 CentOS Linux Servers. 2 T1 PRI's connected to Siemens’ Rolm 9751 phone switch.

Oversaw technical aspects for installation of current campus ERP. Originally POISE on Dec Alpha running OpenVMS. This project upgraded GMC to SCT Power Campus. This involved GMC's first production MS SQL server running SQL 2000. This system has since been upgraded to SQL 2005 in MS Active/Passive cluster. Worked with Cisco Partner upgraded campus network from 3Com infrastructure running ATM to Cisco infrastructure running gigabit ethernet. Upgraded network design from no firewall and public IP addresses at each workstation to firewalled network utilizing VLAN's and ACL's in Cisco IOS to improve both external facing and internal security.

I held three positions for the County beginning in the Board of Assessment and Appeals as a data gatherer for the computerization of records. Then was promoted to Computer Operator Trainee, then Computer Operator on a Unisys VSeries Mainframe. I was finally promoted to Support technician for mainframe terminal, then early Windows 3.1 PC's and ethernet networks. Installed the first Dial-in server on Windows NT 3.51 for the Department of Health for hospital reporting.

Yokosuka, Japan On Board The Uss Midway, Cv-41 For Attack Squadron (Va-56)

I served onboard the Midway for 2 years from 1982 to 1985. The ship and squadron both forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan and Western Pacific region. I was responsible for the care and maintenance of aircrew survival equipment for pilots flying A7E Corsair II aircraft. From 1985 to 1987 I served in the USNR at NAS Willowgrove, attached to NAS Guantanamo.
