About Marc Schiffman, Md
I intend to transform the patient experience in medicine. If we want to have trust in the Healthcare system, we have to show that we care about patients and family, and respect their cultural and religious needs. We have developed VoiceLove to fill the enormous gaps in communication that exist in medicine. What VoiceLove does and addresses:-Unlimited family and friends can reach out and send messages of love and support-Clergy (including those who family have known for years) can pray with patients and family remotely, including end of life prayers. -Sight-impaired patients (including elderly) need a solution they can independently use. -Nurses around the country have become ill from extra exposure holding up phones and tablets. While helpful and heroic, family deserve unlimited connection during allowed hours and staff deserve protection from many infectious diseases. This holds for any infectious disease, many require contact and respiratory isolation.-Allowing 1 or 2 visitors is not an acceptable alternative to historically filled waiting rooms. Staff deserve to be protected from large volumes of traffic. -Foreign language speaking patients deserve robust connection to family in their native language. -Nurses are highly-trained, skilled professionals with many tasks to complete to finish their shift on time. With VoiceLove, the number of incoming family calls plummeted, and the nurses reported improved ability to do their job, and resulting increased job satisfaction.We solve all of these problems, and more. I don't want another family to suffer the way mine (and millions of other people) have been forced to until now. We will keep the heart and humanity in Healthcare, and a new communication paradigm in medicine is here to stay.
