After joining the CHP as a Public Safety Dispatcher in 1992, I was invited to attend the CHP Academy in 1994. After graduation, I was assigned to the South Los Angeles Area as a new officer and spent my first couple of years patrolling some of the most challenging areas of Los Angeles county.
