As SGCM Logistics I am responsible for the development and execution of the complex, high value Category Strategies. The Logistics strategy is global and delivers long-term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery performance and provides competitive advantage to Rolls-Royce Plc, its customers and suppliers. I am responsible for relationship and stakeholder management with Executive level stakeholders within the business. I provide professional leadership to the category and act as a Company consultant by having intimate global market knowledge of the commodity, including future trend, cost characteristics, statutory legislation and developments within the sector. I am also responsible for both making sourcing recommendations to the relevant control authority. • Supplier Relationships: Responsible for senior relationship management and business development of suppliers within the Logistics category. • Cost Management: Establishing the commercial framework in which the suppliers shall operate, ensuring cost competitiveness is achieved and any subsequent negotiations are conducted in line with strategy. Own overall cost agenda including plans for the designated categories including execution. Accountable for any validation required within the business on savings. • Strategic Sourcing: Accountable for the development and execution of designated category and supplier strategies to deliver business commitments. • Delivery: Leads the definition and subsequently supports the delivery of products, projects and services as designated. Works with the SMTM team and the business areas to ensure resources are available for improvement or counter measure activities. • Processes and Procedures: Accountable for ensuring adherence to functional processes and procedures and ongoing development/ continuous improvement activity.

The role involved the planning and delivery of components across a complex supply chain. Regular meetings with both customers and suppliers to ensure delivery of components on time and to specification.

• Managing a team who are responsible for ensuring the delivery of customer requirements from the supply chain. • Use of ERP system (SAP) for the management of delivery, inventory and business planning. • Develop relationships with the supply chain, both internal and external to ensure delivery against customer requirements. • Identify efficiencies through the analysis and improvement of existing processes/tools including the use of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Journey to Process Excellence (JTPE). • Provide regular updates to seniors on current performance and progress against targets, using score card and delivery metrics. • Monitor team performance against set objectives, identifying development needs including the provision and support of the graduate placement programme.

Led a multi disciplined team in establishing a manufacturing Joint Venture in India. The role involved the identification of suitable partners leading to a down selection process. Negotiations led to the establishing of the JV in March 2010.

Development of joint venture companies in both Italy and China. Management of multi disciplined teams to grow the product portfolios of the JV's by managing the transfers of work into the businesses.

My role involved the management of 60 multi disciplined people in the production of Advanced Turbine products. Ensuring a safe working environment, the delivery of conforming products in tight production lead times was paramount.
