Lasher Tools is a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality non-powered hand tools, employing over 700 staff, over 3 factories. Key industries including Agriculture, Forestry, Gardening, Construction, Mining, Hardware and General DIY. After relocating to New Zealand in 2019, Lasher was keen to offer me a fixed-term contract to conduct an eight-month feasibility study. The market was one they have wanted to enter for a number of years and felt this the ideal opportunity to explore various options. My main task was the introduction of the range. This involved extensive research into the New Zealand market, identifying and meeting with key Distributors, Wholesale as well as Retail chains. Additionally, this included spending time at various trade shows, on-site and in-store, acquiring a deeper understanding of the industry in New Zealand, as well as variations within Wholesale and Retail models. During this time, I gained meaningful insight into the region and am grateful for the opportunity to meet with the key players within such a vast and expanding industry.The product was well-received, and a suitable partnership sourced and secured. End of the FTC has had the project handed back to Lasher South Africa.

Responsible for the administration, development, and management of 22 Wholesale accounts across South Africa. Implementation of agreed sales strategy in order to successfully monitor, and when and where necessary, adjust key focus areas accordingly in order to achieve annual targets. Planning and running of client training, bi-monthly salesforce days implemented in order to drive incremental sales as well as ongoing countrywide store visits to monitor all product obtains optimal diversity and market share. Responsibilities included the engagement and management of various Home Owners Associations, Trustees, Body Corporates and Managing Agents to raise interest and business sales for the company.
