The Fresh Start Program was a Labor/Management collaboration between the Chicago Teachers Union and the Chicago Public Schools that helped bring about school reform by working with underperforming schools and turning them around together. I provided administrative oversight to ten (10) CPS schools – oversaw program operations; monitored curriculum for differentiated instruction; set key instructional goals; implemented a new teacher evaluation program based upon Charlotte Danielson’s work;… Show more The Fresh Start Program was a Labor/Management collaboration between the Chicago Teachers Union and the Chicago Public Schools that helped bring about school reform by working with underperforming schools and turning them around together. I provided administrative oversight to ten (10) CPS schools – oversaw program operations; monitored curriculum for differentiated instruction; set key instructional goals; implemented a new teacher evaluation program based upon Charlotte Danielson’s work; ensured compliance with all federal and state mandates and obtained grants and funding; facilitated staff professional development and family initiatives that were designed and assessed to meet the needs of the community; negotiated CBAs; analyzed data to inform strategic initiatives; developed and prepared reports; coordinated legal oversight; monitored distribution of budget allocations; and presented at conferences (locally and nationally).
