Established the Program operation for Ironshore. As Practice Leader developed an annual $400 million GWP book of specialty multi-line MGA programs. Retired in November of 2018

Industry Practice Leader for Liability and Multi-Line Programs at QBE the Americas/QBE Specialty. • Developed underwriting guidelines, financial measurement tools and program management requirements and standards for the Liability and Multi-Line Unit of the Specialty Direct Program Department. • Cultivated unit from a gross written premium of $35M to $400M exceeding the ROE requirements. • Redeveloped the due diligence procedure to reduce the numbers of problems on newly launched programs. • Procedure increased the percentage of Programs launched by the proposed target date.• Established a system of MGA/MGU audits and quarterly financial review to ensure that result issues were targeted and repaired which produced both the profitability and top line growth required by the Company and the MGA. • Instituted program committees made up of staff from the Claims, Financial, Actuarial and Compliance Departments which substantially improved efficient management of the Programs. • Hired a team of experienced and proven liability and multi-line underwriters and developed them into solid program managers. • Rewrote coverages which successfully attracted new programs and increased the premiums and profitability of current programs. This presented clients with coverages that provided the sizzle to their products, increasing written premium and profitability while limiting risk to the Company. • Held dual responsibility 2000 to 2006 for the Facultative Department of QBE Reinsurance Corp. Turned around a poorly performing unit to one generating profits of $24M and combined ratio of 82%.

Responsible for ceded reinsurance for all insurance operations, captives and managed facilities. Part of the Senior Management Team that developed underwriting guidelines for insurance programs underwritten by the Group. Managed the Group’s reinsurance intermediary operations in New York and Bermuda. Reduced the overall reinsurance costs by 25%, increased the protection of the Company’s surplus and provided a 10% increase in corporate underwriting results. Improved relationships with the reinsurance brokers and direct reinsurers. Developed a marketing plan that led to the addition of major programs. Restructured and launched a marketing plan for the reinsurance intermediary operations. Created an operational structure that provided backroom support from the Group and consolidated functions for economy of scale.

Responsible for Facultative Casualty and Specialty Treaty Unit.Developed the Organization’s first Facultative Casualty and Program Reinsurance unit. Set up Toronto and Los Angeles branch offices. Instituted underwriting and pricing guidelines, and operational structure and system, budget and marketing plan.Developed underwriting practices and guidelines for client insurance companies.
