I lead a team of embedded and full-stack software engineers who are developing technologies to decarbonize heavy industry, starting with enabling ultra-class mining trucks to migrate from diesel to hydrogen fuel.

− Proposed and architected the mission-level hardware-in-the-loop testbed (Flatsat), and organized/executed a project- wide roadmap for system integration, required for launch and operational readiness. Led the integration effort that resulted in the first hardware-in-the-loop simulated “flight” of the Kuiper spacecraft.− Served as a project leader in systems architecture, including definition of spacecraft concept of operations (ConOps), software architecture, fault protection, integration and test, and defining interfaces across software and hardware teams.− Technical lead for the flight software team, guiding team roadmap, priorities, and execution, and interfacing with customer teams and leadership. Responsible for building the satellite mode state machine and autonomy software.− Hired the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) software team and led software architecture and initial development. Responsible for flight software and simulation products, including distributed and real-time simulation.

− Managed an interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers, developing scalable robotics software platforms and products with machine learning and computer vision, running in real-time in the fulfillment operations environment.− As a member of the Robotics AI core leadership team, drove software architecture, technical roadmap, and strategic planning. Projects included advanced R&D as well as order-serving applications.− Team management responsibilities included direct reports of up to 30, working with geographically distributed project teams around the globe. Responsible for mentoring, promoting, hiring, and recruiting of team members.

I led a talented and diverse team of engineers to create the software stack for the Planetary Resources spacecraft product line, including flight software at the application and deeply embedded levels, ground/ops software, and simulation.

At JPL, I contributed to a wide variety of projects relating to embedded and flight software, from adaptive optics to airborne instruments. I served in software, systems engineering, and integration/test capacities. My primary focus while at JPL was the Mars Science Laboratory mission, where I was responsible for a significant cross-section of the entry, descent, and landing flight software.

As a consultant/contractor, I developed a modular embedded computer platform that allowed wireless monitoring and maintenance for a variety of power inverters, particularly focusing on residential and commercial solar. I was responsible for the architecture, design, and fabrication of the embedded software, electrical, and mechanical elements. I also managed the development effort for the customer and administrative web portals.
