I served as a community reporting fellow for Lede New Orleans, participating in its Fall 2021 reporting fellowship program. In this role, I spent several months interviewing and researching to document the work of New Orleans community members—from kitchen staff at a local food bank to food growers at a community garden—for a multimedia project exploring how the community is addressing local food access needs.

I served as the Digital History Intern for the site. In this role, I worked alongside the monument team to share the site’s attributes by undertaking digital history interpretation assignments like developing a social media/web content strategy, conducting image scanning, research, and organization. This work aligned with the site’s efforts to preserve stories specific to the site in multiple electronic and printed formats by planning, designing and developing exhibits and written brochures.

I serve as the marketing and publicity assistant for Tulane’s interdisciplinary, place-based institute known as the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South. In this role, I assist, update and produce new content for the NOCGS’ social media outlets. I also produce articles, press releases and other written documents promoting NOCGS and NOCGS-affiliated events.

As Media Board Executive Chair, I serve as the collective face and voice for the administrative issues regarding the facilitation of community outreach and combined projects between the several student media outlets on campus. I will also serve as a chair on the Student Body Administration Committee.

I served as the Digital Marketing and Publications intern for 64 Parishes magazine. In this role, I developed social media content, monitored and tracked engagement across multiple platforms, assisted with planning and staffing events, contributed to the proofreading and copyediting of new articles, and uploaded content onto the magazine’s website.

I served as the Cultural History Education Intern with Everglades National Park. I worked closely with the park’s Division of Resource Education and Interpretation, the archives program under the South Florida Collection Management Center and park scientist under the South Florida Natural Resource Center to finalize and grow curriculum focused on the social and natural history of the park.

I served as the editor for the views section. I used my background in writing opinion columns to guide and edit for writers in my section. I stressed the need for new and original perspectives on issues big and small; this culminated in a new column ‘The Elephant’ which centered on deep-seated issues on campus that seemed to be ignored by administration and the student population.

During this internship, I served as an integral part of the communications team; working to elect Democrat Matt Haggman to Congress in Florida’s 27th congressional district. Over the course of the campaign, my main focus was media coverage and photography.

I served as a staff writer and photographer for every section in the newspaper. I used my wide-range of knowledge to write about everything from sports and news to arts/entertainment and opinions.
