The stuffy bio is below. But here's a bit about me that's more personal. I love helping leaders. Leaders who feel stuck. Particularly founders who have grown an organization to a point where there is a team...but to the point where there's no more fun. And that team feels more like a drag than a help.Interestingly, I find this type particularly in nonprofit founders and tech startups. Both attract can-do, positive, fast-paced, do-ers. And both are surprised that a staff doesn't seem to free them up to continue being fast-paced, problem-solving, do-ers!When I'm not helping leaders, I like to brew beer, hang out with my family, and sing 80's tunes with abandon. 📺 If you want a short, quick thoughts on leadership, go to my Shorts on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/@marcpitman/shorts🏅 To learn more about my approach to coaching, listen to my conversation with Phil M. CeoThe Concord Leadership Group Llc Jun 2003 - PresentGreenville, Sc, UsWE HELP PEOPLE IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONSBECOME LEADERSPeople in leadership positions are grossly misunderstood. To outsiders, they seem like the ones sitting in high places with unbridled power. After all, they’re the ones calling the shots.BUT INSIDERS KNOW THAT CALLING THE SHOTS DOESN’T MEAN YOU HAVE UNBRIDLED POWER;IT MEANS YOU HAVE OVERWHELMING RESPONSIBILITY.That responsibility may have come with a recent promotion. Or you may have been carrying it for so long it feels like it’s crushing you. Or maybe you’re finding that once-reliable strategies for dealing with the overwhelm aren’t up to the challenges you’re facing today. You may be wondering if you’re really cut out for this leadership thing. You may be dealing with doubt, imposter syndrome, anxiety, dread, or a belief they promoted the wrong person or that it’s too much or that you’re simply not cut out for this anymore. We get it. People depend on you for so much—from encouragement to strategic decisions to flat-out livelihoods. The Concord Leadership Group helps leaders navigate the rough waters and the heavy burden of leading. We work best with leaders who have experienced success in the past and everyone around them knows they will keep on succeeding but who still feel like they are making it up as they go. Through executive coaching, keynotes, workshops, and leadership intensives, leaders work through the nine strategies in the Quadrant 3 Leadership™ framework. If you are experiencing leadership churn or if you’re feeling pulled apart by competing demands or overwhelmed with responsibilities, the Concord Leadership Group can help. We offer a range of programs for C-Suite executives, founders, owners, boards, and teams, all designed to help people in leadership positions to become the leaders who drive growth, improve culture, and build bottom lines.THE SOONER WE GET STARTED, THE SOONER EVERYONE STARTS SLEEPING BETTER. -

Pastor & Church PlanterVineyard Church Of Waterville Dec 2004 - Sep 2008The Vineyard Church of Waterville was a church plant in the Vineyard denomination. As the pastor, I was the Executive Director of the faith community, developing and sharing vision, collaborating with the community - both inside and outside the church walls. And doing the typical clergy duties of preaching, marrying, burying, and helping people through joys and through trials. In just 3 1/2 years my wife and I led the church, VCW touched over 5000 individuals with practical ways of showing God's love. We had hundreds of visitors. All without growing much beyond a consistent community of 20-25 people on a Sunday!

Director Of Individual GiftsThe Stony Brook School Jan 1999 - Feb 2003I started at Stony Brook as the Alumni Director over seeing class reps and young alum events. But with my development background, I was always fundraising too. Here we completed a successful $7 million campaign, including raising the last $100,000 primarily through email. I was then promoted to the Director of Individual Gifts which was responsible for managing a full major giving portfolio and creating a planned giving society. This position included management responsibilities within the development office. Both positions required about 50% travel so I learned to manage my time well while on the road.
