Drawing on years of experience, I have consistently exceeded revenue goals and supported student success through targeted fundraising strategies and visionary leadership while concurrently completing my Ph.D. With a heavy focus on effective marketing and PR campaigns to elevate donor retention and identify new donor opportunities, I increased private fundraising, doubled alumni giving in one year, and raised $30M+ in new revenue. I have built a high-performance team working harmoniously throughout five offices and enhanced collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels to facilitate the achievement of organizational goals. I chaired several subcommittees to orchestrate a series of events throughout the year for the university’s sesquicentennial celebration, achieved the highest alumni giving rate in Louisiana (23% up from 4%), and enabled 200+ students to remain enrolled by establishing a student assistance fund. I have enhanced policies and procedures to align operations with bylaws and applicable state and federal regulations, worked with the VP of Business & Finance to implement financial controls, and collaborated with senior administrators and trustees to prioritize activities. To provide a further contribution to the university and really get to know the students, I teach first-year student orientation courses to prepare freshmen for success.

In this role, I worked with Board members and the staff to design and deploy a growth-focused development program and capital campaign plan. I conducted feasibility studies, generated naming opportunities and strategic partnerships, led trainings, and established timelines, benchmarks, and expected outcomes. I developed all aspects of marketing campaigns and associated collateral, wrote winning proposals and grants, and coordinated legislative requests. The results of my efforts included a 200%+ increase in fundraising during my first year, an increase in net revenue from the fundraising gala from $20K to $100K, and the successful launch of a $5M capital campaign to construct a new Jazz & Heritage Center.

I consistently achieved the annual fundraising goals of ~$10M while heading a seven-year, $75M strategic fundraising campaign by establishing and implementing short- and long-term strategies, plans of action, and key performance indicators (KPI). I demonstrated a genuine interest in the growth of team members, providing mentoring and coaching to prepare individuals to assume roles of additional leadership responsibility within the organization. Highlights here including winning a $400K endowment gift and securing $45M in revenue over four years.
