In my largest project, I'm creating tracking systems and databases to store and manage project and program information in an easier and more productive way. This "project" has involved all four departments in CEC and is used by around 50% of the total staff, to varying degrees. An initial (and ongoing) challenge was to explain and teach new web 2.0 tools to non-technical and skeptical sponsors. A significant related challenge was (is) to discuss, debate, and agree on the evolving system goals. My strongest skill is the combination of a strong and friendly communication ethic and a broad technical knowledge.I led an inventory control project whose goal was to--once and for all--organize all the the state-monitored inventory items in the store room, and to create a documentable process of receiving and transferring such that we always had a count of current inventory. This fun change-of-pace moved me from a role that was much more significantly technical, to a role that was all "soft" skills. Within this project I spent lots of effort managing expectations, creating deliverables from consensus, following up on tasks, and resolving conflict.I have also, so far, created no less than three website redesigns for CEC. This reflects both CEC's evolving priorities as well as my evolving skills. As I become better, I quickly become unsatisfied with my previous work.

I created a new consolidated department-wide contact database. I created a new marketing and branding aesthetic. The ongoing responsibilities (which greatly evolved over the course of the role) included: I acted as the primary point of contact and knowledge base for projects which were involved in complicated government incentive programs. I wrote proposal templates and custom proposals. I created a set of marketing materials such as flyers for different services that the department offered. I compiled financial reports and tracked project status.
