Who could have thought that when doing my PhD thesis in a research lab, I would have, some years later, worked as International Marketing Director?? Although I liked a lot doing basic research, I needed to do something more concrete and fast-paced. This was made possible by taking the challenge of jumping from Research to Commercial as Sales Rep in the pharmaceutical industry, a position where you have to constantly adapt to your audience to deliver the message that will deliver sales. My relocation to New-York has also been a significant milestone since it has been the very first opportunity, after local marketing responsibilities, to be exposed to an international environment, managing people and projects in a matrix organization, leading changes in the company marketing approach while recognizing and adapting to the cultural differences. A lot of changes happened during the course of my carrier: my ability to easily adapt, embrace and lead changes in order to perform in the new environment is well recognized by teammates. A question on my management style and behavior? Optimism, believing that everything is possible, ensuring that people remain highly motivated in what they do, Team interaction, delivering on time, respect of commitments,… are some of them.What drives me? - Growing ! Growing in the range of capabilities, of course professionally speaking but not limited to. Improving or learning foreign languages and more recently starting practicing scuba-diving are additional examples of my aspiration to always be ‘somewhere’ on a learning curve.
