Field Service Technician
Maintained and serviced all printers and copiers for Riverside University Health Systems and Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) sites. Provided second level support for tickets on printers, copiers, and label printers as well as client-side printing / copying network support.-Took over for a supervisor and technician that departed suddenly, leaving 70 pending calls in the service queue, by organizing the team and assigning technicians to calls logistically close to each other to bring the service request queue down to zero pending.-Saved the hospital thousands of dollars by addressing the inability of almost 50% of network copiers to scan to network folders after a server hardware upgrade, identifying the incompatibility of older scanning protocols on the affected copier models to the new server hardware, and finding a software update allowing proper copier functions.-Service Technician, Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) | Loma Linda, CA | 2018 – 2019Assigned a campus area with several newer copiers having issues communicating on the network.-Diagnosed the network communication problems, discovered several settings connected to an SNMP protocol that caused the printers to appear offline on user PCs, and located the correct SNMP settings for that enabled users to print without interruption.-Fixed an error code that cleared then reoccurred even after replacing an alleged malfunctioning hardware component by contacting the manufacturer’s support line, discovering that a software issue at the board caused the problem, and applying a manufacturer-created software patch to all machines to permanently fix the bug.
