As the Engineering Manager for the team responsible for Spotify's iOS and Android authentication, I hired, managed and grew a team of 10+ iOS, Android and Backend engineers.Together, we built software that leveraged Google Cloud Platform products (Google Kubernetes Engine, Dataflow, BigTable, BigQuery) to allow hundreds of millions of Monthly Active Users to access Spotify's flagship product.Furthermore, I had the opportunity to lead several projects that spanned across the Spotify organisation as part of the company's limited number of Company Bets. During that time, the teams I worked with included up to 35+ engineers across a number of teams and disciplines and shipped dozens of experiments to leverage Spotify's Data and ML's capabilities to reach the company's goal of 1 Billion Monthly Active Users.During this time, I was consistently evaluated as exceeding expectations and sought more leadership challenges to further my impact.While my role was mostly hands-off, I helped my team by writing Scala-based data pipelines that ran on Google Dataflow and leveraged Spotify's billions of daily events to power our decision making. I also helped mentor the iOS and Android engineers in my team to learn the fundamentals of kubernetes and take part in the team's reliability and on-call strategy.

Software Engineer (Mid-Level, then Senior), then Engineering Manager starting 2018 (Junior then Mid-Level), User Acquisition.The team that I initially joined, then became the Tech Lead and Engineering Manager of consisted of Backend (Java) and Web (React/Redux) engineers and owned the company's Landing Page System, then its Customer Relations Management capabilities, Discount and Referral systems.As an individual contributor, I had impact across the stack, from a rework of our Couchbase data layer to a migration of Lucene indexes to Kubernetes based sidecar containers to the creation of a server-side rendering React/Redux web layer. These initiatives increased performance and search engine crawl rate by more than 10x.Later as a hands-on Engineering Manager, I worked with my team to implement an event-driven transactional discounts on our payments systems that allowed us to guarantee consistency while keeping databases separate.

I completed a Master's Degree in Computer Science, with a two year break due to having already signed a full-time employment contract with Omio.

I built several websites for private customers using HTML, CSS and Javascript and deployed on Amazon Web Services instances.

As one of two software engineers for https://www.kazaden.com/, I built the first version of the startup's website using Groovy on Rails for server-side rendering and Elasticsearch as a search engine. This stack was then manually deployed to Amazon Web Services EC2 instances.
