As someone who has been on both sides of patient and health care provider, I have recognized that the health care industry needs doctors who understand patients' frustrations when the medical field cannot answer all their problems and sometimes gives more problems than solutions. I have wanted to become a doctor.My journey was not a straight to medical school because of car accidents and the COVID-19 pandemic; however, as I got older, I decided that no other career besides becoming an M.D.-Ph.D. doctor and eventually a professor would not satisfy me and would be a disservice to younger self-goal and drive to become a doctor. I worked in the medical field just before COVID-19 and have loved it ever since. No other field I have worked for has given me the satisfaction I felt when my skills and abilities could give better results for my patients and clients.My academic focus has been in Applied Mathematics and Psychology, which began at San Diego Community College, where I was on the dean's list, and continued into The University of Arizona, where I was recognized for my outstanding.I have worked in the academic field as a Test Administrator, Peer Mentor, and Peer Educator, where I learned to conduct class lessons and ensure the fairness of the testing room. I also worked in law and the medical field, involving cases involving families and individuals.My current experience is being involved in two research labs, one in Psychology researching psychophysics, where I analyze different data sets and create multi-model hierarchy sets. My other research was in applied mathematics, researching biofluids and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), which was conducted using my math analysis skills and the ability to create CAD(Computer-aided design) models. My goal is to attend Medical school and earn an M.D. in Emergency Medicine and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology Toxically because of my experiences as an EMT where the value of understanding the actions, reactions, and adverse effects of medicines and drugs drives me to natural progress from EMT to EM and Pharmacologist.
